My most popular insight post and probably one of the most enjoyable to write was – ‘The Future Belongs to the Fast’. In light of the recent announcement of a merger between Hewlett Packard Enterprise and CSC, I thought it was about time for a follow up.
In my original post, I tried to capture the excitement that was evident at the World Economic Forum; the anticipation that comes when everything changes. This is our chance to restructure things in the way that we want and use technologies to rapidly accelerate progress farther than we could ever imagine. Meg Whitman (CEO of HPE) was one of the influential speakers at the WEF event and it was recently announced that HPE are now merging with CSC; who have been valued customers and partners of ours for many years. Together, they are set to create a leading global IT services company, uniquely positioned to lead clients on their digital transformations. With Mike Lawrie and Meg Whitman at the helm, I couldn’t think of a more exciting partnership to lead Digital Transformation and take us fast into the future of work.
Meg Whitman (CEO), when talking about the transformation at HPE, said ‘Technology is the easy part – getting the organization to move to adopt the new technology and the new way of doing business is, in many ways, the toughest component’.
I am a great admirer of Meg Whitman and her message still resonates strongly with our mission here at mhub. Many companies have invested in technology to become more agile, more productive, efficient and competitive but they cannot get the organisation to move to adopt these new technologies. For CSC and many other other companies, mhub unlocks the value of these investments by allowing people to easily access everything they need to work more productively, wherever they are, in a secure environment. A completely new way to work from a single app on all desktop, laptop and mobile devices that results in improved performance and faster digital transformation.
Meg Whitman commented on the merger: “The ‘spin-merger’ of HPE Enterprise Services with CSC is the right next step for HPE and our customers,”. She continued “Enterprise Services’ customers will benefit from a stronger, more versatile services business, better able to innovate and adapt to an ever-changing technology landscape. As two companies with global scale, strong balance sheets and a focus on innovation, both HPE and the new company will be well positioned as leaders in their respective markets.”
The CSC press release – ‘The combination of CSC and HPE’s Enterprise Services segment will create a new company with substantial scale to serve clients more efficiently and effectively worldwide. By combining, both companies can more rapidly accelerate their already-improved financial and operational performance.’
Partnering with smaller, agile players like mhub and the subsequent partnership of these two leaders is certain to bring great benefits to current and future customers and the market. It is certainly worth watching this space, I for one, cannot wait to witness their groundbreaking achievements.
